Laboratory and Equipment Management
Maintenance: Keep all computers, peripherals (printers, scanners, projectors), and specialized lab hardware in functional, and operational condition.
Diagnostics and Repair: Perform initial troubleshooting and routine fixes for minor hardware and software malfunctions, coordinating with higher-level technical services or vendors when major repairs are needed.
Calibration: Regularly test, calibrate, and maintain measurement or electronic instruments (where applicable in hardware/circuits labs) for accuracy
Software and System Administration
Lab Preparation: Install, configure, and update operating systems, programming environments, and required course software before semester classes begin.
Security and Backups: Execute regular data backups, monitor systems against malware/spyware, and enforce access controls to safeguard lab resources
Academic and Research Support
Classroom Assistance: Set up equipment and support instructors and students during practical lab sessions.
Research Facilitation: Assist faculty members and students with technical setups required for project work and experimental research.
Inventory Control: Maintain an up-to-date inventory register of all departmental hardware, components, tools, and accessories.
